Microscopy Core

The Neurosciences Microscopy Shared Facility is a state-of-the-art imaging resource for the UCSD community. Designed with the needs of UCSD labs in mind, the facility features 2-photon, confocal and deconvolution capabilities for live cell imaging. The equipment currently available for use includes an Olympus FV1000 Spectral Confocal, an Olympus FV1000, an Olympus FV300 2-Photon, a Perkin Elemer UltraVIEW, a NanoZoomer, a Lecia SP5, a Deltavision RT, an MMI Laser Microsection, and Olympus MVX10 Macro-View, an Applied Precision OMX Super Resolutio, and an electrophysiology microscope. The facility employs a student asisstant, who as part of their duties provides technical assistance as required to facility users. Consultations are provided by microscopy staff and specialized imaging software is available for hourly use. The rates for all are being revised.
